Available Options for South Carolina Residents

Three different health insurance companies will be offering health insurance through the federal insurance marketplace in South Carolina. These insurance companies include Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, Consumer’s Choice Health Plan and Coventry Health Care of the Carolinas. These three health insurance carriers will be offering a total of 52 options when it comes to selecting the health insurance plan that is right for you. Each plan varies in coverage. A variety of premiums and deductibles are available for individual and family plans. WIth such a wide-variety of health insurance options, there is a plan to meet the needs of South Carolina individuals and families. Individuals and families can rest easy knowing that premiums cannot go up based on age, sex and past medical history.

DECO Recovery Management, Cooperative Ministry and the Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce have all received federal grants and training to act as navigators. Navigators hired through these organizations will be able to provide information on insurance plans to individuals and families as well as guide them through the enrollment process.
